I am so glad I started blogging. This was the last day I spent with Joy. While I was packing, Joy was making messes and I was taking pictures. She had gotten into the brown sugar that was left out from breakfast. She made a mess and got it everywhere. So typical! Now my house is clean but my heart is empty...
Oh, Tami, I love you...my heart is still hurting for you. I love these pictures of Joy and the great, patient mom you are - to take pictures mid-mess. Lots of love...
These pictures started the tears over here. She is so gorgeous, so full of mischief and mayhem. I love that you captured this moment. I admire your patience and good humor. You have taught me so much. Love to you Tami.
I will miss her adorable, messy face! It has been said before, but I will say it again...you are one patient mom! I look up to you more than you'll ever know. PLEASE, call me when you need ANYTHING! Good food, a friend for Eli, Guitar Hero-whatever heals your soul- I will try to provide! Love to you and your family!
Tami and Family, I am a relative of a friend and I guess I'd be called a "stalker" in the blog world, since I don't know you, yet I visit your blog. I just need to say that I am so sorry about your sweet Joy. Please know that your angel is safe now, wrapped in the arms of Jesus and her family in Heaven.
Tami, my heart breaks for you! I haven't stopped thinking and praying about you guys. You are such an amazing mom and I hope one day I can be the kind of mother you are.
I second Brooke's comment about the toothbrush. That was one of the first things I noticed...how funny!
tami, so sweet that you have pictures of this day. i have to second everyone else's comments at how good a mother you are to laugh and take pictures of her in the mess. we have not stopped thinking and praying for your dear family. ((hugs))
look at all that sugar! though i'm sure she loved every minute of it. you have such a sweet heart and i ache for your loss but i'm glad to see that you're up on the blogging. it is good to hear about you and your family and to be able to participate in your good memories of your sweet little Joy.
Our little Joy passed away on January 20, 2008. She was 2 years and 3 months old. She died from a rapid onset respiratory virus and passed away in her sleep. She was in the care of her loving grandparents at the time while her parents and older siblings were in Disneyland.
I am so grateful that I started blogging 9 months before she died. These memories of her a a real treasure.
"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."
~Joseph B. Wirthlin
"Parents who have surrendered the sweetest and smallest flowers from the family's garden need to remember our Heavenly Father. He has promised a special reward to those who now suffer in silence, who spend long days and longer nights through their trying times of bereavement. Our Creator has promised glory. He said, 'For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but nigh at hand.' (D&C 58:4) That promised glory includes the blessing of reunion with each child who has left the family circle to help surviving members of the family to draw nearer to God. Those children still live and are a heritage to the Lord."
