Emotionally Eating

Does anyone know what time of year it is? (I'll give you a hint.) If one of them knocked on my door right know, I'd buy 52 boxes so I could have one a week for a year. Yep. Thin Mints. Unfortunately, I don't know any girl scouts nor have I seen any walking the streets. I did, however, visit my local grocery store to get my annual supply of this.

I made a new year's resolution one year. No ice cream for breakfast. I have tried to stick to this ever since. But I must say, it's been a rough month. We're already to March?

Thanks to my out of state friends who hook me up with Safeway Brand Mint Tuxedos. There's nothing better. (Well, those thin mints...) Luckily I never said I couldn't have these for breakfast.

and I'm drinking too much of this...

and really there is nothing better than this. (My Valentine Stash)

And you know what's funny, I went to buy me some new pants a few days ago and I actually went down a size and they were loose. (I guess crying and stress must burn a lot of calories.)

But the reality of it all: trying to drown my sorrows in food doesn't even work. I'm still missing Joy.

  1. Tami, I am at Safeway everyday. Tell me when you're ready for a shipment of Mint Tuxedos and they'll be on your door step overnight!

  2. i've got to say thar it is rather difficult to say no to those girl scouts as you come out of the store. i've got abox of thin mints stashed in the freezer (i might just have to go and get me some icecream...lucky for me: brook hates chocolate and mint together!) i've been very proud of myself for not downing it all in one week..a great feat for me, as well. :)
and i never knew that safeway had mint tuxedo's the generic brand of thin mints, eh? i think that i will have to get me a box when the time comes. :)

  3. Mer: I've still got 3 boxes in my stash. I'll let you know when I get low.

Tamie: They're like oreos. The mint filling is so much better than the real mint oreos.

  5. Are tuxedos really comparable to thin mint cookies? I love girl scout cookie time. I would love to emotionally eat with you. ice cream, cookies, diet coke and chocolates!!!! You definitely are my kind of girl.

  6. I'm glad I'm not the only emotional eater out there (I just wish I could lose a pant size while doing it, too). Joy is lucky to have a mom who is still missing her deeply, I think.

By the way, I'm glad you enjoyed the soup. I wish I was closer so I could just come cook for you - although then you would realize I'm not that great of a cook after all!

  7. I see nothing wrong in the food choices pictured...I think I eat at least something in those categories every day! Joy has the best parents ever and she knows you'll always want her.

  8. Hi Tami,

Did you know that either this month or in April, the girl scouts will set up a booth outside the grocery stores and sell ANY flavor of girl scout cookie that you want on the spot. Forget searching out a sweet little door-to-door seller, stock up at the grocery store. (A tip from a fellow Utah transplant.)
